Hi! My problem is, that I need to publish one row in a Doors View, which contains an insufficient Layout DXL Column (it generates much text for outgoing links). I found out, when I set and save a filter in that view to one row, the RPE is much faster (because the other rows are not loaded). My question: Is there a way to set the filter to a view, before the view is loaded? Normally my code would be like this:
View v = view("Insufficient RPE View" majorBL "." minorBL "");
if(null m || null v)
{
ack "load error";
halt;
}
bool isLoaded = load(m,v);
if(!isLoaded)
{
ack "View is not existing!";
halt();
}
sorting off;
Filter fChangeFilter=column("Compare", "CHANGED")||column("Compare", "NEW")||column("Compare", "DELETED");
set(m, fChangeFilter);
filtering on;
ViewDef vdef =get (v)
useAncestors(vdef,false)
useDescendants(vdef,false)
useCurrent(vdef,false)
useSorting (vdef,false)
useFiltering (vdef, true)
useWindows(vdef,false)
save(m,v,vdef)//creates view

Re: Set Filter before view is loaded (inefficient Layout DXL for RPE) Well if the view stores filter settings - I guess no, because it will overwrite any filter you set. If you have a "Compare" Column, should'nt you be using an attribute DXL? Regards, Mathias |
Re: Set Filter before view is loaded (inefficient Layout DXL for RPE) This is a complex issue, as you want to export the information in RPE so I guess the filter will be changing continuously in order to do the export faster? If the answer is yes to that there is no way to do that as RPE will not execute any DXL. If you have a specific view that has a filter of one object then this will only export that object in RPE. RPE will use the running instance of DOORS but at that point DOORS will be inaccessible and probably RPE will open the module again with the specified view (the one from the specification). If that view has a filter then the view will be loaded but you cannot change the filter of the view grammatically at that point of time. It might be the case that it is much faster to reconstruct the filter in RPE, for example if there is a column with layout DXL then you can actually do something with java script that creates the same information in RPE. If you post more information I might be able to help. Kind regards, Costas
